WEST POINT, N.Y. – After posting his first career shutout, Army’s Jay Clark has been named the Atlantic Hockey Association Goalie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
A junior from Baudette, Minn., Clark went 1-1-0 and allowed just two goals last weekend against Connecticut, recorded his first shutout and picked up his third assist of the season to earn the weekly honor for the first time this season.
In his first game against the Huskies, Clark turned away 31 shots with nine saves in the first, 10 in the second and 12 in the final period on the way to a 5-0 victory. He picked up the assist on Danny Colvin’s game-winning power play goal as well, giving him three for the season. In a 2-1 loss to Saturday, Clark made 20 saves.
