WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Big East Conference announced today that Army’s game at Rutgers on Nov. 22 has been selected for broadcast as part of the league’s television package with ESPN Regional Television.

The battle of New York metropolitan rivals will be syndicated nationally in over 50 markets across the country and televised in the Tri-State area on SportsNet New York. Kickoff time has been set for 12:05 p.m.

Army’s date with Rutgers will mark the Black Knights’ first to be syndicated by ESPN Regional Television this fall, following four appearances on ESPN Classic, one on ESPNU, one on Versus, one on Cox Sports and one on Time Warner Sports. The Black Knights’ 14-7 defeat of Louisiana Tech on Oct. 26 was also broadcast exclusively on ESPN360.com.

In the last 14 years, 52 Army games have been televised nationally, 14 via network television. The Black Knights have been televised live to a national or regional audience 82 times during that span. By contrast, Army had never appeared on national television more than three times in any given season prior to 1995.

Monday’s announcement pushes Army’s total number of televised games to 10 this fall, in addition to the appearance on ESPN360.com. In all, seven of the contests are slated to be broadcast to a national audience, including the Black Knights’ season-ending showdown with Navy. That battle will be televised world-wide by CBS Sports on Dec. 6.

Army enjoys its first week off in nearly two months following Saturday’s hard-fought 38-31 loss at Rice. The Black Knights close out their 2008 campaign opposite Rutgers (Nov. 22) and Navy (Dec. 6).
