WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army senior midfielder Sean Reppard was named the Patriot League Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, Tuesday, after his role in the Black Knights’ season-opening 17-3 victory over VMI on Saturday.
The Gaithersberg, Md. native won nine of 11 faceoffs, including five-straight to start the game, as Army jumped out to a quick 6-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back.
Reppard also grabbed a career-best seven ground balls during the victory, which was the 700th in the 92-year history of the program. Only four other teams in NCAA history have eclipsed the 700-win plateau.
Ranked 18th in this week’s USILA Coaches Poll, Army heads north to take on defending national champion and top-ranked Syracuse on Friday (Feb. 20) at 7:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome
