LEWISBURG, Pa. – Army senior attackman Justin Bokmeyer scored three points on two goals and an assist, but the Black Knights couldn’t overcome a 6-0 halftime deficit, falling at Bucknell, 7-4, Friday night in Patriot League lacrosse action.

Senior goalkeeper Adam Fullerton was credited with nine saves as Army had its five-game winning streak snapped while suffering its first conference loss of the season.

Bucknell, ranked No. 13 in this week’s USILA Coaches Poll and No. 15 in the Nike Inside Lacrosse Media poll, earned its second-straight victory over Army, which entered the contest No. 14 and No. 11, respectively in this week’s polls. The Bison also won a 6-5 decision in Michie Stadium last year.

Bucknell struck early, as Doug Buckley found a wide-open Tim Brandau in front of the Army net to give the Bison a 1-0 lead only 46 seconds into the game.

Buckley would find the goal with a diving unassisted tally at 2:31 as the Bison led, 2-0 after the first quarter.

Bucknell (8-2, 3-1 Patriot League) added four more goals, including a pair of man-up tallies and two in the final 1:50 of the quarter to lead, 6-0, after 30 minutes of play.

Army junior attackman Brooks Korvin finally got the Black Knights on the board with a 15-yard bouncer off an assist from Bokmeyer to make the score, 6-1, at 11:29 of the third quarter.

Bucknell made it a 7-1 game at 8:46 with their only goal of the second half, as Army trailed by six after three quarters.

Army (7-3, 3-1 Patriot League) looked to mount a comeback in the final period, scoring three unanswered goals. Junior midfielder Kevin LoRusso netted an unassisted tally at 7:49, before Bokmeyer scored goals at 5:25 and 3:43 but it wasn’t enough en route to the three-goal loss.
