WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army Director of Athletics Kevin Anderson announced Thursday morning that the contract of head men’s basketball coach Jim Crews has been terminated.

“There was a series of events that led me down the path to determine that I needed to make a change in leadership of the men’s basketball program and terminate coach Crews’ contract,” Anderson stated. “I am very disappointed with some things that have come to my attention in recent days and I have decided that it is in the best interests of the basketball program and the institution to terminate our relationship.”

In seven years as Army’s head coach, Crews registered a 60-139 (.302) record. He led Army to the Patriot League Tournament semifinals each of the last three seasons. Army finished 11-19 overall a year ago.

In making the announcement, Anderson said that a national search for Crews’ replacement will begin immediately.
