PHILADELPHIA - Army senior goalkeeper Adam Fullerton made 10 saves, while junior attackman Jason Peyer scored two goals and an assist, but it was Pennsylvania taking a 13-9 victory this afternoon at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

The Quakers (6-7) jumped out to a 6-1 first-quarter lead and never looked back, increasing their lead to an 8-4 margin at halftime. Army (9-6) was able to close within two goals, 9-7, with a 3-0 run early in the third quarter, but Penn outscored the Black Knights, 4-2, to finish the game and earn the victory.

Penn scored three unanswered goals to lead 3-0 with 8:45 to play in the first. Peyer put the Black Knights on the board with a man-up goal at 6:25, but three more Quaker goals put Army in the early five-goal hole after 15 minutes of play.

After senior attackman Justin Bokmeyer stuck a goal in the top-right corner of the goal from eight yards out to make it a 6-2 game with 13:56 on the clock, two-straight Penn goals staked the Quakers to a 8-2 lead with 9:41 to play in the second quarter.

Peyer tallied his second tally on a six-yard liner at the 7:06 mark, before freshman attackman Jeremy Boltus was able to slip a goal past the Quaker keeper from his belly at 3:15 to cut the Penn lead to 8-4 at halftime.

Penn only needed 18 seconds to get on the board in the third quarter, before Army went on a three-goal run to pull within two, 9-7, 9:30 on the clock. Junior attackman Brooks Korvin got free in front of the Quaker net and converted a Peyer feed at the 11:42 mark, before senior midfielder Mike Hanna ran the length of the field and scored on a 10-yard bouncer at 9:37. Junior midfielder Sean Reppard won the ensuing faceoff and hit a slashing Korvin in front of the Penn net seven seconds later to complete the run.

Penn finished the quarter with a tally at 8:24, and started the fourth with another at 13:11 to retake a four-goal lead, 11-7. Bokmeyer scored off his own rebound at 6:45, but two more Quaker goals at 3:24 and 2:06 made it a 13-8 game.

Freshman midfielder Rob McCallion finished the game with an unassisted tally with 57 seconds to play for the 13-9 final.

Penn, which outshot the Black Knights 45-31 and won 21-of-26 faceoffs, was led by junior attackman Craig Andrzejewski who scored four points on two goals and two assists. Junior attackman Casey O’Rourke tallied three goals as seven different Quakers found the net.
