WEST POINT, N.Y. – Four Army lacrosse players were honored by the Patriot League on Monday after the Black Knights’ 9-6 victory over arch-rival Navy on Saturday at Michie Stadium.

Army swept the four weekly awards as senior captain Justin Bokmeyer was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, senior captain Adam Fullerton was named the Goalie of the Week, senior Craig Massie garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors and freshman attackman Jeremy Boltus landed Rookie of the Week recognition.

Bokmeyer scored a game-high three goals, including two during a decisive 3-0 run that gave Army its biggest lead of the game, 8-4, with 2:54 left in the third quarter. His first goal kicked off a 3-0 Black Knight run to start the game. Bokmeyer, who has now won the weekly award two times this season, leads Army with 27 points on a team-best 20 goals and seven assists.

Fullerton was credited with 11 saves, including eight in the second half, to preserve the Black Knights’ first victory over Navy in 13 games since 1997. Ranked fifth nationally with a .622 save percentage and sixth with a 6.70 goals against average, his performance was his eighth double-digit save effort of the season. It marks the fourth time he has won the weekly award this season.

Massie was a key member of the Black Knight defense that held the Midshipmen to their third-lowest scoring output of the season. He also was responsible for holding Navy’s leading scorer Nick Mirabito, who entered the game with 18 goals and 19 assists, to one goal and two assists. Army ranks fifth in the country in scoring defense, allowing only 6.55 goals per game.

Boltus was thrust into the Black Knights first attack unit after an Army injury and responded with what proved to be the game-winning goal, to go along with an assist. With the game tied, 3-3, early in the second quarter, Boltus assisted the first of two Black Knight goals that gave Army a 5-3 halftime lead. Boltus then intercepted a failed Navy clearing attempt and ripped home his tenth goal of the season to put the Black Knights up, 7-4, with 6:25 to play in the third quarter. He also won the award on Feb. 19 after a one-goal, five-assist effort in the season-opener vs. VMI.

Army, which moved up nine spots to No. 8 in this week’s USILA Coaches Poll, as well as No. 9 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse media poll, finishes up the Patriot League portion of its schedule at Lafayette on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. before taking on Duke this Saturday at Manhasset High School at 12:00 p.m. Saturday’s game with the Blue Devils, who are No. 1 in the media poll and No. 2 in the coaches poll, is scheduled to be broadcast on ESPNU.
