WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army senior Adam Fullerton garnered his second-straight Patriot League Goalkeeper of Week honor, Tuesday, after his efforts in the Black Knights showdown at No. 8 Cornell last Saturday.
In a game played in gusting winds and freezing rain, Fullerton made 12 saves in Army’s 9-8 road loss to the Big Red. It was his third game this season with double-digit saves.
Fullerton was also honored with the award last week after posting 13 saves in a 12-4 victory over Air Force.
Fullerton ranks seventh in the country with a .662 save percentage and ninth with a 6.21 goals against average. He is also a big reason the Black Knights are eighth nationally in scoring defense, allowing only 6.0 goals per game.
Army (2-2), which moved up two spots to 15th in this week’s Nike/Inside Lacrosse Division I national poll and also stand 18th in the USILA Coaches Poll, head to Dallas, Texas this week for a Saturday showdown with Rutgers as part of the Ford Yankee Cup. The Black Knights will take on the Scarlett Knights at 4:00 p.m. EST, following a Patriot League showdown between Navy and Holy Cross at 1:00 p.m. EST. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization which provides programs and services to injured soldiers and their families.
