Championship Day
The U.S. Team neatly disposed of Japan 20-5 on Thursday night to set up a rematch with Canada for the World Championship. Yesterday was an off day from playing, but a work day in terms of preparation. After a team photo shoot in the morning, the offense gathered for a 45-minute film session. I found it to be a great session for the guys. There was tremendous give and take as we broke down all of our possessions against Canada in the first game. The guys feel as I do that our mistakes in the first game are correctable and if we "clean up" a few things we can win this game!
The defensive meeting followed headed by Assistant Coach Tony Resch and was equally as productive. From there, we headed out to the practice field to work on a few things that we discussed in the film session. Last night we had a team dinner at Don Giovani, an Italian restaurant in Manchester. As usual there were a lot of laughs and great camaraderie. After dinner, I was able to stop by my family's hotel and catch up on their day of travel to Liverpool where they got their fill of the Beatles. Great day for everyone!
Check out todays game at 11 a.m. Eastern time on ESPNU. Go USA! Go Army!
