Good afternoon Army lacrosse fans and welcome to today's live blog from Michie Stadium. Tracy Nelson with you today, bringing you my first lax blog of the season. Today, Army (1-4) hosts Rutgers (4-1) on a picturesque day in the Hudson Valley. The sun is shining, temperatures eclipsing 65 degrees when I came in and no snow in sight. Three ingredients for a perfect game day! Happy official first day of spring everyone!

First a little background on today's game. Army is looking to end a four-game losing skid and is playing at home for the first time since Feb. 23. The Black Knights have lost their last two contests in OT, falling at nationally ranked Cornell and Air Force to kick-off March. Rutgers has won three in a row and played four if its first five games of the season at home in Piscataway, N.J. The Scarlet Knights' lone loss of the season came against nationally ranked UMBC on Feb. 28. For more information on today's game, check out our lax guru Tim Volkmann's notes. There you'll find complete history, statistics and more player information.

The meat of today's blog will take place in the Cover It Live window below. Feel free to send me your comments, questions and such and I'll do my best to answer them throughout today's game. I don't pretend to be an expert, but have seen my fair share of lax that hopefully today's blog will be both entertaining and informative for you. If you get tired of reading my ramblings, let me offer you a few alternatives. You can watch the game live on ITT Knight Vision (click here), stay tuned to live stats (click here) or if you live in the Hudson Valley, you can catch the radio broadcast on WEOK 1390-AM or WALL 1340-AM. Army's Cody Chrusciel has the call.

Well that'll do it for today's quick intro. I'll be back shortly with starting lineups for both teams.
