It's a beautiful day in the Hudson Valley and its Friday - the perfect recipe for a great day at West Point. Hello Black Knight Blog readers. Tim Volkmann tickling the keyboard for your reading pleasure.

I just checked off the last thing on my list of preparations for tomorrow's home lacrosse game versus Rutgers at 12:00 p.m. on what promises to be a perfect day to watch a game outside. I have a feeling the change of season and temperatures will spur the Black Knights on to victory after some very close losses the past two weeks on the road. While the team's record stands at 1-4, there is still a lot of season left to play as Army is the only team not to already have played a Patriot League game yet. So that means the overtime losses to Bryant, Cornell and Air Force that happened in the last month won't mean a thing when we open the conference schedule against Lehigh on Tuesday with a clean slate.

One-goal or overtime losses are always a really tough way to go and having three in the last four outings might be too much to handle for some teams. But our guys have done a great job after each one of moving on and focusing on the next opponent and only worrying about the things that they have control over moving forward. If the Black Knights can string together a couple of conference wins in the coming weeks, those tough losses will turn into nothing but distant memories.

Fans that can't make it to the game can watch on-line via ITT Knight Vision or with live stats or even on the radio if you live in the Hudson Valley (1390 AM WEOK or 1340 AM WALL). Tracy Nelson will also be doing a live blog and I'll be Twittering from the game so there are plenty of avenues for fans to follow along with.

As you may have already seen by this week's previous blog entries, it has been a pretty quiet week around here with a lot of teams away on spring break. While it has been a good time to catch up on some little jobs that I have been putting off for a while, it will be nice to get everyone back next week and get in the swing of spring as we head toward the end of the academic year.

March Madness is in full swing and it was great to see all those upsets yesterday (mainly because none of them were my favorite team). That is what makes the tournament so great. You never know who might step up and shock the basketball world with an upset. Although my bracket took a couple big hits yesterday because of some of the outcomes, I love watching the teams that hardly anyone ever hears about put a scare into some of the top seeds.

One of the other things that I told myself I was going to do this week but have putting off is doing my taxes. I still haven't been able to bring myself to churn through all those numbers yet. Ugh. You would think I'd be all over it since I usually get money back but I just think it is such a pain. I give a lot of credit to accountants and other people that do that stuff for a living. I'll take updating player bios any day over trying to figure out if I can get a deduction for my dry cleaning.

Hope to see you at tomorrow at the game. If not, make sure you take your phone with you so you can follow along. Talk to you soon everyone.
