WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army's gymnastics team closes out its home slate Friday evening hosting Air Force, 6 p.m., at Lou Gross Sports Center. It is also the final home meet for seniors Ty Smith and Justin Sappington as the Black Knights look to defeat the Falcons for the first time since 2007.

The meet will also be carried on ITT Knight Vision, the official multimedia package of the Army Athletic Association, broadcasting over 150 premium live and archived events each year along with exclusive weekly free content available by logging on to www.goARMYsports.com.

Army, ranked No. 15 in the latest GymInfo rankings, holds a 20-10 lead in the all-time series and will be looking for its first home win over Air Force since claiming a pair of victories in 2006. The Black Knights are 2-0 against service schools this year, having defeated Navy twice, the first in a triangular meet at Springfield, and the second time in the "Star" match in Annapolis.

Freshmen Kip Webber and Garrek Hojan-Clark won medalist honors on floor exercise and pommel horse, respectively, last week in a home match against Springfield. Webber set a personal best winning floor exercise with a 14.9 in beating the Pride's Ty Evans and Josh Fox by 5/100s of a point. The native of Boxborough, Mass., broke his previous high of 14.4 set in a road loss to Springfield that Fox won with a 14.55. Webber also turned in his best mark of the season in topping Army with a 13.6 on parallel bars.

Hojan-Clark captured his signature event (pommel horse) with a 14.05, the lone gymnast to break the 14.0 mark with Springfield's Matt Tocchio finishing a distant second with a 13.90. Senior team captain Ty Smith was runner-up on vault with a career-high 15.4, shattering his previous mark of 15.05 set last year, while sophomore Chase Brown also registered a career best 15.15 turning in Army's second highest mark on that apparatus. Smith, who also recorded a career best 14.25 on floor exercise, set a season-high 80.25 in all-around.

No. 12 Air Force is coming off a strong showing against University of Chicago-Illinois, a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference along with Army, in its home finale last Sunday. The Falcons fell to UIC by a narrow 348.60-346.45 en route to combining for six Academy records and 15 career-best individual marks over the weekend.

Sophomore Chase Nobles scored a 14.7 to tie for first on pommel horse along with breaking the school record in that event with Nash Mills and Joel Uptmor tying for first on vault with 15.75s and Devin Meneff winning still rings with a 15.35.

The Falcons claimed a 329.10-309.60 decision in last year's meeting in Colorado Springs where Army's Jonathan Hoey nipped Mills for medalist honors on high bar (13.15-13.10) in the next to last event.

In the latest GymInfo rankings, the Falcons are listed ahead of Army in fix of the six team events, their highest showing on still rings (No. 6) and vault (No. 9), while Army has the edge on pommel horse where the Black Knights are ranked 10th averaging 54.05 points with Air Force listed 14th (53.667). Individually, the Falcons will look to Mills, who is ranked ninth in all-around (85.567) and 13th on parallel bars (14.667) with  Meneff listed No. 4 on still rings (15.15).

Army's Hojan-Clark is ranked No. 26 in the country on pommel horse (14.083) with Hoey next at 13.483. Webber is No. 48 on floor exercise (14.483) and 66th on vault (15.233) with Tim Tieng posting the best average of 13.833 on parallel bars and Ty Smith Army's leader on high bar (13.6). Smith is also ranked 22nd (79.35) in the all-around.
