Kyler Earns Sixth Seed At NCAA Tournament

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army senior Matt Kyler is the sixth seed and classmate Richard Starks is unranked, it was announced today when the NCAA revealed the brackets for the 2010 NCAA Wrestling Championships.

A four-time national qualifier, Kyler was seeded sixth at 149 pounds after winning his second EIWA Championship last weekend.

Starks, a three-time national qualifier, was not seeded at 197 pounds following his third-place finish at the conference tournament.

Kyler, 30-3 this season, will face Brandon Bucher of George Mason, a junior with a 17-16 mark, in the first round next Thursday, March 18. The winner of that match will face the winner of the #11 Desmond Green (27-6 from Buffalo) vs. Shawn Harris (16-11 from Virginia) match.

Starks, 26-2 this season, will open his tournament against Logan Brown, a junior from Purdue with a 32-11 record.

The 2010 NCAA Wrestling Championships will be held March 18-20 at Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb.
