WEST POINT, N.Y. - For the
second consecutive weekend, Army hockey player Eric Sefchik registered
multi-point games. And for the second straight week, Sefchik has been named the
Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week.
Sefchik extended his streak of consecutive multiple-point games to four with a
five-point weekend to help Army to two points against Holy Cross.
A senior captain from
Brooklyn, Ohio, Sefchik totaled two goals, including a short-handed tally and
posted three assists over the weekend while registered a +3 plus/minus rating.
Sefchik scored a short-handed goal and matched his career best with an even
strength goal later in a 4-1 win. He handed out three assists during the first
game of the series, the third time in his career he has registered three
assists.
Sefchik is now the team's point leader with a team-best 22 assists and nine
goals and has racked up nine points on four goals and five assists in his last
four games.
Sefchik and goalie Jay Clark
have both twice been named the AAA Athlete of the Week.
Army is 10-13-5 overall and 9-9-4 in Atlantic Hockey Association games.
