WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army freshman Michael Kim scored the equalizer in the 56th minute, but Holy Cross's Jon Werth's unassisted goal nine minutes later lifted the Crusaders to a 2-1 Patriot League men's soccer win over the host Black Knights on Senior Night at Clinton Field.

The Black Knights (1-14-1, 0-7 PL) honored eight members of the senior class in a ceremony prior to the match as Cole Dietz, Evan Seal, Nick Alexander, Jonathan Brege, Peter Campbell, Bryan Connolly, Zach Fenn and Andrew Kydes made their final appearance at Clinton Field.

Holy Cross' Kyle Miller opened the scoring when his unassisted shot from 15 yards creased Army's net in the 24th minute as the Crusaders, who outshot their host 12-6 along with holding a 4-0 corner kick advantage in the first half, took that 1-0 lead into the locker room.

Michael, tallying his first goal of the season, knotted the score 1-1 following his 35-yard run from midfield towards the goal when he beat goalkeeper Booth Thomas with a 10-yard shot just 11 minutes into the second half.

Holy Cross, which held a 9-6 shot advantage in the second half, snapped the tie on Werth's third goal of the season in the 65th minute.

Army senior keeper Nick Alexander made six saves, including four in the first half, as the Crusaders outshot the Black Knights 21-12 along with holding a 6-2 lead in corner kicks.

Holy Cross (6-10, 4-3 PL) kept alive its hopes for a postseason tournament bid with the win as the Crusaders and Colgate are tied for the final fourth spot with 4-3 marks.  Lehigh clinched a berth following its 2-1 overtime win over Bucknell, this year's tournament host, Friday evening to tie with American (4-2-1) for second place. Colgate's 1-0 win over the Eagles today kept the Raiders in contention.
